Terms of Use

Short version: you can use Forecast by MOSS for your own money on one of your computers at a time. It is a number tool to play with for fun, built by a caveman. It is not financial advice.

Think of Forecast by MOSS as a tool to play with numbers, for fun, and nothing more.

Forecast by MOSS shows what may happen to your balance based on the numbers and dates you enter. It is only as accurate as those inputs. It is not accounting, tax, legal, investment or financial advice, and it does not guarantee any outcome. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any financial loss, emotional distress, damage to property or any other loss or harm that comes from using this app or from decisions you make because of it. If you do not accept this, or you do not feel comfortable using the app for any reason, stop using it straight away and uninstall it.

2. The licence we give you

When you buy a plan, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use Forecast by MOSS on one of your own computers at a time, for your own personal use, for as long as your plan is active. The free Sandbox lets you try the app with made-up numbers; it saves nothing and has limits.

3. What you may not do

  • Share, sell or post your licence key. Your name and email are shown in the app so a shared key can be traced to you.
  • Copy, resell or redistribute the app.
  • Reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right regardless of this agreement.
  • Use the app to break the law.

4. Plans, billing and cancelling

Plans are billed monthly or yearly through Lemon Squeezy and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt email; your plan then stays active until the end of the period you paid for. When a plan ends, the app falls back to the Sandbox. Your encrypted data stays on your computer and you can still back it up. Prices may change for future renewals, with notice. See the Refund Policy for refunds.

5. Your data, password and backups

Your data is stored only on your computer, encrypted with your password. If you lose both your password and your recovery key, nobody can open it, including us. Making backups is your responsibility (Settings, Backup).

6. The app is provided “as is”

We work hard to make the app reliable, but we cannot promise it will be error-free or always available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

7. Ending this agreement

You can stop using the app at any time. We may end a licence if these terms are broken, for example if a key is shared publicly.

8. Changes and law

If we change these terms, the app asks you to accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Canada where we are based and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
